1. Who we are
This website, 24worldmedia.com (the “Site”), is operated by 24World Media (“24World Media,” “we,” “us” or “our”), a digital media group. Our postal address is 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, USA. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this Site, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices and rights you have. It was written for this Site and is reviewed when our services or the law change.
This Policy covers the corporate Site only. Each publication in the 24World Media network operates its own website under its own privacy notice; if you are reading one of our publications, the notice on that publication governs your use of it. Where this Site links to a publication, to our sister wire Iconic News Wire, or to any other third-party website, the privacy practices of that destination apply once you leave this Site.
2. Information we collect
Information you send us. When you use our contact form, write to us, or otherwise communicate with us, we receive the information you provide: typically your name, email address, organisation, subject and the contents of your message. If you enquire about advertising, distribution or partnership, we also receive the business details you choose to include, such as your publication, campaign information and deadlines.
Subscription information. Where a publication or this Site offers an email subscription, we collect the email address you submit and record the subscription through a double opt-in process: the address is not treated as subscribed until the confirmation link sent to it is used. We record the publication subscribed to, the confirmation state, and unsubscribe actions so that preferences are honoured across the network’s central subscription pool.
Usage and device information. Like most websites, our servers and analytics tools automatically record information about visits: pages viewed, referring pages, links followed, browser and device type, screen and operating-system information, approximate location derived from IP address, and the dates and times of visits. Server logs also record IP addresses and technical identifiers needed to operate and secure the Site.
Cookies and similar technologies. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies (including pixels and local storage) to operate the Site, remember preferences, understand readership, and serve and measure advertising. Section 6 explains the categories and your controls.
Information from third parties. If you arrive through an advertising or distribution campaign, the referring partner may share campaign-level information with us (such as which campaign produced the enquiry) so that placements can be reported accurately. We do not buy personal information from data brokers.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to: (a) operate, maintain and secure this Site; (b) respond to enquiries and provide the services requested, including advertising, distribution and partnership reviews; (c) send subscription emails that a subscriber has confirmed, and honour unsubscribes; (d) understand which content and services are useful so we can improve them; (e) sell, deliver and measure advertising, and report placements to clients; (f) detect, prevent and investigate spam, abuse, fraud and security incidents; and (g) comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions. We do not use contact-form messages for unrelated marketing, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we rely on: your consent (subscriptions and non-essential cookies, which you may withdraw at any time); steps taken at your request before, or performance of, a contract (responding to service enquiries and delivering agreed services); our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Site and in communicating with business contacts, balanced against your rights; and compliance with legal obligations. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests as described in Section 10.
5. How we share information
Service providers. We share information with providers who help us host and secure the Site, deliver email, analyse usage, and sell and measure advertising, under agreements that limit their use of the information to providing those services.
Within the group. If your enquiry concerns a particular publication, a distribution placement, or a wire service, we may route it, with the details you provided, to that publication’s desk or to our sister company Iconic News Wire so that the right team can respond. Enquiries are shared for the purpose you contacted us, not sold onward.
Legal and protective disclosure. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena or court order; to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; to protect the rights, property or safety of 24World Media, our readers, clients or others; or in connection with an investigation of suspected unlawful activity.
Business transfers. If part of the business is sold, merged or reorganised, relevant information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a successor policy of which you are notified.
No data-broker sales. We do not sell personal information in the sense of a data broker. To the extent that advertising technology described in Section 7 could be characterised as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain U.S. state laws (such as California’s), you may opt out as described in Sections 6 and 10.
6. Cookies and advertising
Cookies on this Site fall into three groups. Essential cookies are required for the Site to function: security, load balancing, form handling and remembering cookie choices. Analytics cookies help us count visits and understand readership in aggregate. Advertising cookies, set by us and by advertising partners including Google and other third-party networks, may be used to serve advertisements based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often an advertisement is shown, and to measure campaign performance. Sponsored content on our publications is labelled as sponsored.
You can control cookies in your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them; disabling cookies may affect some Site features. Many browsers also send a “Do Not Track” signal; because there is no common industry standard for responding, we do not currently respond to such signals, but the cookie controls above remain available. Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, those cookies are used only after consent is given through the Site’s consent mechanism.
7. Analytics and third-party services
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate readership. Embedded or linked third-party services, for example video players, social-media links, and the websites of network publications and partners, operate under their own privacy policies. When you follow a link or interact with an embedded service, that third party may collect information according to its own notice; we encourage you to review it.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy: enquiry records for as long as the business relationship and any legal limitation periods require; subscription records while the subscription is active and for a short period afterwards to evidence consent and honour unsubscribes; server and security logs for a limited operational period; and advertising records for campaign reporting and accounting. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information we hold, including access controls, encryption in transit, security monitoring on our publishing platform, and limiting administrative access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; if we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will respond as applicable law requires.
10. Your choices and rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask for its access, correction, deletion or portability, and, where processing rests on consent or legitimate interests, object to or ask us to restrict that processing. Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply, including rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA (including the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as described in Section 5, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights). To exercise a right, write to us at the postal address in Section 1 or through the Contact page, identifying the information concerned. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority; we would appreciate the chance to resolve the concern first.
Subscription emails always carry an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing from one publication does not silently unsubscribe you from others you separately joined; each preference is honoured as recorded. Marketing communications, where sent, include a working opt-out in every message.
11. Children
This Site is a corporate website intended for business and general audiences. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International transfers
We operate from the United States and use service providers that may process information in the United States and other countries. Where information is transferred internationally, we take steps required by applicable law to protect it, and by using the Site or providing information you understand it may be processed in countries whose privacy laws differ from your own.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date shown on this page reflects the latest revision; material changes will be announced on this page, and continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
